I bummed a smoke from the ice cream man today. I know, all your dreams for me just came crashing down. I don’t, as a rule, smoke. I have never gotten into the habit, thank you Jesus, but every once in awhile, there is nothing better.
Although he sees me week after week, five or so kids screaming up and down the street, in various forms of undress, he was under the impression that I had it all together. I’ll pause for a moment while you all laugh.
Right now, I’m just waiting for everyone to leave me alone for three minutes so I can hide in the backyard and enjoy it. Again, I’ll wait for you to stop laughing.
Why do I feel like I’m in high school again? I wonder what happened to all of the cigarettes my “friends” lost in my car….I bet my mom was smokin them after we all went to bed.

Annie! I smoked four last week. Same reasons, same feelings precisely, same longing for everyone to get away from me so I could sneak again. I just…I feel that we are the same woman.

Oh it’s this one, people can’t handle that I smoke three times a year. Yet, they don’t offer to watch the kids for me either….
