Out and about with Annie

Today I went to a Bible study at church.  We’re doing Beauty by the Book by Laurie Cole.  Going through all of the women featured in Proverbs.  There are five, Imoral, Indiscreet, Irritating, Captivating, and Ideal.  I’m fo sho Captivating.  Get the book for a translation for that.  My husband agreed though.

To say that I didn’t do well in school, well that would be an understatement.  I’ll give you a little insight.  When they read this.

Proverbs 5:18-19 (New International Version)

18 May your fountain be blessed,
and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.

19 A loving doe, a graceful deer—
may her breasts satisfy you always,
may you ever be captivated by her love.

My mind went to this…..
Deer

I found it hard to pay attention after that.  Yes, I know it’s a boy deer.  I’m sorry for the lack of journalistic integrity.  I have a lot on my plate.  I cannot do Facebook, blog, Twitter, read email, 43 loads of laundry, entertain kids, cook dinner, everything AND look for girl deer attack videos on YouTube. But like I said, it was hard to pay attention to the bible study with deer attack videos playing in my head.

That’s the story of my life.

I then went to the mall. Took advantage of a 2 for 1. Also tried on something I had no intention of buying just to get $5.00 – not very long ago this would have been a temptation. Something the store counted on. Today, it was just a tool to save me money. I love not being a slave to stuff.

The mall has recently been purchased by an out of town developer to update it from an ’80s mall. Apparently they are under the impression that we here in the City by the Sea are a little classier than we actually are. Valet parking and all. Not going to fly here. Seriously, Macy’s cannot be your nicest store in a place with valet. Maybe they’ll attract better names….no probably not. We live way too close to major metropolitan centers with actual shopping experience. It ain’t going to fly. They’ll also have to take over the city council in order to give the shoppers something else to do while in town.

I then went to the book store to buy a book. Let me just say that Barnes and Noble….you suck. You never ever ever have had a book that I wanted. Why do I waste my time driving over there to come home and order it from Amazon anyway? Why? Your super helpful sales associate was, as I indicated, super helpful. Didn’t even offer to order it for me.

Luckily there was a Starbucks close by and I was able to get a Godiva hot chocolate. It tasted great, but is not a very satisfying drink in 85 degree weather. Sorry, I know a lot of you are on your second week of snow days…..my time is coming.

While wasting time before it was time to get the kids, I overheard a girl get the news that her daddy had died. She was in her late teens, early twenties. I felt bad for her.

I also filled my social calendar for the next couple of weeks. And saw baby pictures from my friend in AZ who just became a Mommy. My head is still swimming, I cannot imagine how she’s doing. But am oh so happy for B and hubby and R!

You might have wondered if that was me walking around all day with ONE pant leg half way rolled up. It wasn’t, because I would have rolled it down after an unsuccessful attempt at purchasing shoes. I would have looked really lame with one pant leg rolled up.

I am now home, but distracted by the 43 loads of laundry I have to do tonight. And hubby informed me that the water is super hot, which means the water heater is on a death spiral. This information is good, because I’ll know to get up at 4 am to reset it so we can shower in the morning. Annoying I know.

So, that was my day….how was yours?

You…are my fave. I’ll say it again, though it sounds–and is–stalkerish.

I did a Laurie Cole Bible study once. I nearly peed my pants from the deer video. I will forever think of that when hearing Prov. 5.
