MMm hmm, we are striving for the debt free way as well but it sure does seem like there is always something. This year, we had a car wreck and found out we do not qualify for the $10,000 adoption tax credit we have been counting on for over 2 years.
I am with your old man on the college thing. Over and over I saw kids who's parents were paying or who had loans screw around and go home with nothing. Kids who had to work for part of their education rarely ever even missed a class and just about always graduated asap. My plan is to help the girls out but they will be expected to pay, somehow, for half of everything.

Wow! I love your perspective on this!

Our hardest year was the first. We were (admittedly) both pretty immature when we married. We both had to grow up in that first year and learn to put each other first.
