Worm Update

Those little buggars are going to town.  I haven’t touched the top since the first of the month.  Hoping the worms will migrate down.

This morning I added some organic matter to the bottom bin, there was not a lot of activity, so I looked in the top bin.

Call me crazy, but I totally love the dirt.  It was about half full at the beginning of the month, now it’s about a quarter full, but like I said, the dirt is amazing! I tried to take a picture, it doesn’t do it justice.  It looks like potting soil though.

I don’t know when the mass migration will happen, my hippy heart is happy with the results.

And if you want your own MIO-Composter, Target.com has them on clearance.  They were only a limited production for Earth Day.  $69 may seem like a lot, but if you are a complete crunchy dork like myself, it’s a good deal, if you want a pretty one.

I was looking at reviews online.  I feel compelled to remind you that this is not a composter, this is a worm composter.  Regular composters rely on heat to break down the material.  Worm composters don’t like the heat.  Don’t add worms to your regular heat generating composter.

Also, the reviews at Target mention that this composter doesn’t come with instructions.  Since you are currently on the internet, just use the Google.  You probably have one in your tool bar.  Problem solved.

I’m going to go dig in my dirt.
